Sloppy  Super Eagles surrender 4-0 lead to draw Leone Stars 4-4 at home

It was an incredible, poor result for Super Eagles, who were leading their Sierra Leonean counterparts 4-0 to concead three goals at a go at home, settling for a 4-4 tie.

Barley 40 minutes into the first half, the Super Eagles were already leading by 4-0, but the minor Leone Stars fought back to the amazement and disappointment of all fans.

The encounter at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City in Edo State saw the Super Eagles opening scoring through Alex Iwobi within five minutes of play.

Napoli star, Victor Osimhen made it 2-0 for Nigeria on 22 minutes of play in the first half.

Iwobi got a brace to make it 3-0 for the Eagles on 28 minutes while Samuel Chukwueze registered a goal in the 31st minute to make it 4-0 for the Eagles.

But Sierra Leone pulled one back in the 43rd minute through Kamara go make it 4-1.

The visitor made it 4-2 in the 72nd minute in the second half through Kamara A. and quickly added another goal in the 80th minute through  Bundu.

The visitors compounded Nigeria’s woes when they got their fourth goal in the 86th minute again through Kamara to silent the few spectators at the stadium.

Persecondnews reports that Nigeria will now have to beat Sierra Leone in the return leg on Tuesday, November 17 to brighten hope of early qualification.
