Lagos bridge tanker inferno: Traffic Agency announces alternative routes

Following the early Saturday morning petrol tanker fire on Kara bridge at Lagos-Ogun State border, Ogun Traffic Compliance Enforcement Agency (TRACE) has issued a traffic advisory to motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Persecondnews reports that the tanker loaded with petrol fell around World Oil axis outbound Lagos, causing horrendous traffic.

TRACE advised motorists to avoid the  Expressway and take alternative routes, while TRACE, FRSC, POLICE and the FIRE SERVICE, continue with the rescue operations.

A statement by Corps Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi and given to Persecondnews listed the alternative routes as :

*Ota-Ifo-Abeokuta-Sagamu Interchange-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ore Expressway

* VI-Lekki-Epe-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ode Expressway

* Ikorodu-Itoikin-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ore Expressway.
