Alarmed by protesting youths massacre, US Presidential Candidate of the Democratic Party, Mr Joe Biden has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately halt the military crackdown on #EndSARS protesters across the country.

Biden’s reaction comes just as Hilary Clinton also called on Buhari and the Nigerian army to stop the wanton killing of harmless protesters in the country.

Biden, while reacting to the massacre in Lekki Toll Gate where soldiers fired life bullets at the protesters, killing several persons and leaving many other injured, commiserated with those who loved lost their loved ones in the shooting.

He added that the United States stands with Nigerians who are peacefully demonstrating and demanding police reforms and seeking an end to corruption.

“I urge President Buhari and the Nigerian military to cease the violent crackdown on protesters in Nigeria, which has already resulted in several deaths.

“My heart goes out to all those who have lost a loved one in the violence. The United States must stand with Nigerians who are peacefully demonstrating for police reform and seeking an end to corruption in their democracy.

“I encourage the government to engage in a good-faith dialogue with civil society to address these long-standing grievances and work together for a more just and inclusive Nigeria,” Biden said.
