Update: Police arrest Jealous wife who killed her children to settle scores with hubby

A housewife, 26-year-old Hauwa Habibu has been apprehended by the Kano State Police Command over the killing of her two children at Diso Quarters, Gwale Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

The spokesman for the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who paraded the suspect in Kano, said the police received information that the suspect allegedly hacked her two children to death with a cutlass.

”On receiving the information, we quickly sent our men to the scene and found the victims stabbed.

“Team of detectives immediately rushed to the scene and took the victims to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where a Medical Doctor confirmed the two children dead, whereas the said Aisha Sadiq was transferred to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, treated and discharged.

“The Command’s Commissioner of Police, CP Habu A. Sani, psc raised and directed a team of Operation Puff Adder led by SP Nasiru Gusau, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Gwale Division to arrest the suspect within 24hours. The suspect was arrested on the same date at about 22:50hrs,” he said.

According to him, Hauwa confessed to have locked up their house, used machete and aluminium-made pestle to attack the three helpless children.

 

He said the Commissioner had ordered the case to be transferred to the Homicide Section, State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for “discrete” investigation.

Persecondnews recalls that Hauwa Hauwa had been on the run after killing her two children — Yusuf (5), Zahra’u (3), and injuring her 10-year-old niece Aisha, who was living with her.
