Coronavirus cases are rising in most states, according to numbers released by the NCDC, a worrying trend that could intensify as people return to work and venture out during the phased lockdown ease by the government.

The NCDC announced 490 new cases with 24,567 with the virus in Nigeria. Total death is now at 565 with 9007 recoveries.

The virus is also on the rise globally. Places that suffered early on such as China, Italy and Spain have calmed down but Brazil, India and other countries that were spared initially are seeing large increases. The world is seeing more than 100,000 newly-confirmed cases every day, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
