COVID-19: Lagos records two more deaths, figure rises to 16

…no new case yet, says commissioner

As at Monday, April 20, death toll in COVID-19-related illnesses has climbed to 16 with two new deaths.

Prof. Akin Abayomi, the Commissioner for Health, announced the new deaths on Tuesday with one of them as a 45 year-old-man, who returned from India in January.
The second was a 36-year-old woman who had a severe underlying health conditions.
According to Abayomi, the woman had no history of travel or contact with any confirmed case of coronavirus.


He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any COVID-19 infection in their various communities.

Lagos is still the epic centre with 379 infections and 260 active cases.

To date, 98 patients have been discharged while 16 patients have died.

Lagos is yet to record new case of COVID-19.
