The Abia State Government has condemned in strong terms what it called the recklessness of some security men in the state in recent times, saying it will not allow extra-judicial killing of the citizens.

” It must be nipped in the bud forthwith,” the government said in a statement by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Dr A.C.B. Agbazuere, a copy of which was obtained by PerSecondnews.

The statement came on the heels of fatal shooting of some defenceless citizens of Abia.
“We hereby condemn in very strong terms the unwarranted shooting of some Abians and the consequent loss of their lives.

“While Government appreciates the commitment and industry of heads of security agencies and some other security personnel in the State, the breeding recklessness of some security men in the state must be nipped in the bud forthwith,” Agbazuere said.
He assured all Abians that the trigger-happy security agents must definitely face justice.
Agbazuere said the soldier who killed a man at Umuokereke Ngwa has been dismissed from the Army and has been remanded in prison pending his trial for murder.
“All other arm bearers must learn their lessons. A word should be enough for the wise.”
