Barely eight days after the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation in Abuja was torched, the headquarters of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has been gutted by fire.
The fire which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday started from the last floor of the seven-storey building located in Maitama, Abuja.
No life, however, was lost in the incident.
Federal fire-fighters were battling to put out the fire to prevent it from spreading to other floors.
Other buildings on the same street are those of the National Youth Service Corps, the Nigeria Incentives Risk-Based Sharing for Agricultural Lending and the Nigeria Export Promotion Commission.
Commenting on the fire, CAC’s Registrar-General, Alhaji Garba Abubakar, said: “There was a minor fire incident at the CAC today (Wednesday) which was quickly extinguished by the men of the fire service.
“However, there was no loss of document or lives.”
