Maryam Sanda, the woman who killed her husband, Bilyamin Mohammed Bello, nephew of Dr Haliru Mohammed Bello, ex-national Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is to die by hanging.
A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court handed down the verdict on Monday.
She was found guilty of murdering Bello in November 2017.
Sanda was tried on a two-count charge bordering on culpable homicide.
PerSecondnews reports that Sanda attempted to flee from the courtroom following the judgment.
She was, however, apprehended officials of court and prison.
