Onoja sworn in as new Kogi Deputy Governor

Two days after the Kogi Deputy Governor, Mr Simon Achuba, was reportrdly impeached, Mr. Edward Onoja, has been sworn in as the new Deputy Governor.

The State Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajana, administered oath of allegiance and office on Onoja, Gov. Yahaya Bello’s former aide – the Chief of Staff.

Onoja was confirmed few hours ago by the  State House of Assembly at a special plenary on Monday.

Achuba has had a running battle with Bello over his unpaid N800 million salary and allowances for some years.

Achuba had vowed to contest his removal from office in the law court and also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene.
