Just in: Embattled Kogi Deputy Governor Impeached

Simon Achuba

The estranged Deputy Governor of North-Central state of Kogi, Mr Simon Achuba, was on Friday impeached by the State House of Assembly.

Achuba was impeached after he confronted the governor with figures of salary and allowances owed him running into about N800 million.

He also made it public through the media.

He had also cried out over threats to his life and family members as the state government allegedly withdrew his security aides, and cut other utilities to his official residence.

Achuba had visited President Muhammadu Buhari about two months at Aso Rock ostensibly for His intervention.
