DHQ Constitutes Probe Panel on Killing Of IRT Police Operatives in Taraba

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin on Friday constituted a 7 man Joint Investigation Panel to unravel the circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police that resulted in the killing of three IRT personnel of the Nigeria Police and a civilian along Ibi – Wukari road in Taraba state.

This is in compliance with the directive by the President Muhammadu Buhari to the Chief of Defence Staff to constitute a panel to probe the unfortunate incident.

The Joint Investigation panel is headed by Rear Admiral IT Olaiya and has a representative each from the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, the Nigeria Police, Department of State Service and the Defence Intelligence Agency.

A statement by the Acting Direcor, Defence Information, Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu states that the Joint Committee has commenced work immediately.
