Nigerian football star Rasheedat Ajibade has officially signed a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Féminine, keeping her with the club until June 30, 2027.

The 25-year-old forward joins the French club as a free agent after her contract with Atletico Madrid expired last season.

Ajibade expressed her excitement and pride in joining one of Europe’s top clubs, saying, “I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”

Ajibade will join forces with her fellow Super Falcons star, Jennifer Echegini, who recently signed with PSG.

The duo is expected to strengthen the team’s attacking prowess and contribute to the club’s success in the upcoming seasons.

PSG’s sporting director praised Ajibade’s signing, highlighting her quality, experience, and winning mentality as valuable assets to the team.

Ajibade’s journey to PSG is a reward to her hard work and determination.

Growing up in a compound of almost 100 people in Lagos’ Mushin district, she had to wash people’s toilets and bathrooms for money.

However, her talent and passion for football propelled her to stardom, leading Nigeria to a record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title and earning her the Most Valuable Player award.

With over 30 international caps, Ajibade is a key player for the Super Falcons.

Her impressive performances for Nigeria and Atletico Madrid have earned her recognition as one of Africa’s most talented female footballers.
