2025 National Police Day: FCT Police Kick Off Activities With Community Outreach, Clean-Up Exercise

In its effort to foster community policing and robust police-community relations, the FCT Police Command, led by Police Commissioner Ajao Adewale, has kicked off National Police Day 2025 with a three-day community outreach programmes scheduled to run from April 3 to April 5.

In a statement sent to Persecondnews on Wednesday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said this year’s theme, “Say NO to Crime,” emphasized the shared responsibility of law enforcement and the public in addressing cultism, drug abuse, sexual-based violence, cybercrime, kidnapping, and other social vices.

According to Adeh, the initiative kicked off with a clean-up exercise on day one, highlighting the crucial role of a clean and safe environment in promoting security and community development.

 

 

The statement reads: “The Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, led officers and men of the FCT Police Command on a clean-up exercise at Lagos Street, Garki, and the Palace of the Sa’peyi of Garki.

“This exercise highlights the command’s commitment to community engagement beyond law enforcement duties.

“The Commissioner of Police expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his visionary leadership and commitment to community policing.

“He noted that the IGP’s efforts in modernizing and reforming the Nigeria Police Force continue to inspire officers to build stronger relationships with the communities they serve.

“The FCT Police Command urges all residents to actively participate in this outreach and remain vigilant. Security is a shared responsibility, and the police encourage the public to report any suspicious activities through the emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883.”
