In an incredible feat, LeBron James has become the first player in NBA history to score 50,000 career points, solidifying his position as the league’s all-time leading scorer.

James achieved this milestone in style, sinking a 25-foot three-pointer against the New Orleans Pelicans to move to 50,002 points.

The 40-year-old NBA icon went into the game with 49,999 regular and postseason points, and it didn’t take long for him to get the solitary point needed to reach the 50,000-point barrier.

James’ impressive form in his 22nd season has been a testament to his enduring talent and dedication to the sport.

This achievement is the latest in a long list of records broken by James.

He previously surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time regular-season scoring record of 38,387 points in 2023, a record that had stood for 39 years.

James is now nearly 6,000 points clear of Abdul-Jabbar’s total career points tally of 44,149.

The all-time scoring list now reads: LeBron James (50,002 points), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (44,149 points), Karl Malone (41,689 points), Kobe Bryant (39,283 points), and Michael Jordan (38,279 points).

Among active NBA players, only Kevin Durant, with just over 35,000 points, makes the top 10.
