“It is our utmost prayer that you, your wife, and others affected by the incident be healed and recover as quickly as possible”

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has commiserated with former international Tijani Babaginda over the loss of his brother Ibrahim Babangida, an ex-junior international.

SWAN also condoled with Tijani and his family over his young son’s death, which occurred a few days after a fatal accident along the Kaduna-Zaria highway.

SWAN President Isaiah Benjamin expressed his sadness on Monday over the unfortunate road crash.

Ikenna Okonkwo, Secretary-General of SWAN, stated in a statement that the president prayed for the wife and any other accident victims to “heal and recover as quickly as possible.”

He said: “Tijani Babaginda has always been a jolly good fellow. I remember his recent outing as chairman of a grassroots football competition in Kaduna.

“I’m still yet to come to terms with the accident that claimed the life of his brother Ibrahim, who is also lively and enterprising.

“I urge Tijani and other family members to take heart. As sports journalists in Nigeria, we will continue to stand with you and your family at this time and always.

“We fervently hope for the speedy healing and recovery of you, your wife, and any others impacted by the incident.”

The SWAN President then urged the Kaduna State and Federal Governments, as well as spirited individuals, to lend a hand of support to Tijani (who has given so much to his dear country) and others who sustained injuries as a result of the accident.
