Tinubu Appoints FCT Civil Service Commission Chair, 10 Permanent Secretaries

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointments of the Head of the Federal Capital Territory Civil Service, 10 Permanent Secretaries, and commission members.

Their appointments are coming after the FCT Minister, Mr. Nyesom Wike, earlier wrote to the President seeking approval for the nominees, a statement issued by the Office of the FCT Minister on Tuesday disclosed.

The approval, dated March 11, was written in accordance with the provisions of Section 2(2)(a & b) of the Federal Capital Territory Civil Service Commission (Establishment) Act, 2018, which provides for the appointment of a chairman and six other members, representing each of the geo-political zones of the country.

Those appointed are: Engr. Emeka Ezeh (Chairman); Mr. Ahmed Mohammed (North West); Mr. Anthony Okeah (South-South); Mr. Mohammed Magaji Ibrahim (North East); Mr. Miskoom Alexander Naantuam (North Central); Mr. Jide Jimoh (South West); and Barr. Martin Azubike (South East).

Also, to fill existing vacancies in some critical agencies of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) are: Abdulkadir Zulkarfi, Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Department; Chief Felix Obuah, Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council; and Oladiran Olufemi Akindele, Coordinator, Abuja Infrastructure Investment Centre.

According to the statement, in order to strengthen the FCTA bureaucracy, Mr. Atang Udo Samuel, who is the most senior director in the FCT Civil Service, has been appointed as Head of the Civil Service of the FCT.

Some serving directors of the FCT Civil Service were also appointed as permanent secretaries based on competence and geographical spread.

They are Dr. Adams Baba Gana, North East; Mr. Wanki Adamu Ibrahim, North East; Mr. Asmau Muhktar, North West; Mr. Dogo Aliyu Wadata Bodinga, North West; Mr. Olusa Olusegun, South West; Mr. Adetoyi Rabiu Kolawole, South West; Grace Adayilo, North Central; Olubunmi Olowookere, North Central; Mr. Ibe Prospect Chukwuemeka, South East; and Okonkwo Florence Nornubari, South-South.
