Breaking: Peter Obi’s Labour Party rejects Presidential Tribunal’s judgment

978

Unsatisfied with the judgment of the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal, the Labour Party (LP) has rejected it, saying justice was not served in the petitions filed against the election of President Bola Tinubu.
The tribunal had dismissed the petitions filed by LP and its candidate, Peter Obi against Tinubu’s victory at the poll, describing them as clearly ‘unmeritorious.’
Reacting to the judgment on Wednesday, LP said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Obiora Ifoh, that Nigerians were witnesses to the electoral robbery that took place on February 25, 2023, which was globally condemned but that the Tribunal in its wisdom refused to accept the obvious.
“What is at stake is democracy and we will not relent until the people will prevail, ”Ifoh said.

He said the Labour Party saluted the doggedness of its team of lawyers who fearlessly exposed the rot in the system.

” Labour Party can only weep for democracy in Nigeria, we refuse to give up on Nigeria.

“Details of the party’s position will be presented after consultation with our lawyers after the certified true copy of the judgment is made available to us,” Ifoh said.
