Breaking: ₦33.8bln Case: 75 years Jail Term for Ex-Power Minister Mamman

Saleh Mamman, former Minister of Power has bagged a 75-year sentence for theft and laundering of about ₦33.8 billion of public funds.

Persecondnews reports that Justice James Omotosho of a Federal High Court in Abuja in his judgement on Tuesday, convicted Mamman on all 12 counts slammed on him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The court imposed seven year sentences on 10 counts, with three years and two years on counts four and five respectively, ordering that all terms run consecutively to amount to 75 years imprisonment.

It also granted an option of a ₦10 million fine on count four and ordered the forfeiture of recovered foreign currencies and four Abuja properties linked to the former minister.

Persecondnews recalls that Mamman had served as Minister under the late President Muhammadu, who later sacked him.
