The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the commencement of recruitment for 50,000 police constables, as directed by President Bola Tinubu.
The recruitment process aims to strengthen community policing, improve internal security, and boost manpower within the police.
“The PSC, in collaboration with the NPF, is pleased to announce the commencement of recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force,” said Torty Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs.
The recruitment portal will open to eligible Nigerians from December 15, 2025, to January 25, 2026.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, medically, physically, and psychologically fit, and meet specific age and height requirements.
For general duty, applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old, with a minimum height of 1.67m for men and 1.64m for women while specialist applicants must be between 18 and 28 years old.
Applicants for the general duty cadre must possess GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent qualifications with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
Specialist applicants must have a minimum of four credits, including English and Mathematics, and at least three years of experience and relevant trade test certifications.
Police promised that the recruitment process will be conducted transparently, merit-based, and credibly, with no payment required at any stage, warning applicants to beware of fraudsters.
