The family of late veteran actor Olu Jacobs has announced the funeral arrangements for the iconic star, who passed away at 84.
He will be laid to rest on Friday, October 2, 2026.
In an official statement obtained by Per Second News, the family disclosed that the final rites will begin with a Night of Tributes on Wednesday, September 30, at Glover Memorial Hall (No. 4 Customs Street, Marina, Lagos Island) starting at 4:00 p.m.
The funeral service will take place two days later, on Friday, October 2, at This Present House, located on Freedom Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State, with the ceremony commencing at 10:00 a.m.
Describing Jacobs as their beloved husband, father and brother, the family expressed gratitude to God for his life and the years he spent with them.
The announcement was accompanied by the words: “A life of purpose. A legacy of impact. Forever remembered.”
Jacobs, who was 84 at the time of his death, was one of Nigeria’s most prominent actors, with a career spanning theatre, television and film.
He became a familiar face to audiences in Nigeria and beyond through decades of performances on stage and screen.
His career earned him recognition as one of the enduring figures of Nigeria’s acting industry, with his work spanning different generations of audiences.
The announcement of his final rites comes after the family previously confirmed his death, bringing an end to the life of an actor whose career has left a lasting mark on Nigerian entertainment.
With the Night of Tributes set for September 30 and the Funeral Service fixed for October 2, family, friends, colleagues and admirers will gather to honour Jacobs and bid him a final farewell.
