Toyin Abraham has shut down attempts to pit her against fellow actress Uche Montana, refusing to engage in comparisons between her own box office achievements and Montana’s surging viewership numbers.

The Nollywood star made it clear that she is opting out of the competitive narratives being fueled by fans and critics.

The controversy began after online debates questioned the authenticity of streaming numbers, with some social media users suggesting that Abraham’s strong fanbase needed more time to reach milestones that Montana’s latest project achieved within hours.

Reacting to the growing conversation, Abraham issued a strong warning to fans and critics alike, urging them to refrain from dragging her into unnecessary comparisons or attempting to discredit another actor’s success.

“Leave me out of it, Uche deserves her success,” she said in a direct and measured tone, making her stance unmistakably clear.

She further stressed that every actor’s journey is different, noting that success in the film industry cannot always be measured using the same parameters or timelines.

“Please leave my name out of this, she’s big and she’s good. Won sepe fun yin ni, let her shine and leave my name alone,” Persecondnews quotes her as saying.

The actress expressed concern over what she described as a toxic culture of comparison among fans, warning that such behavior only creates division within the industry rather than fostering growth and collaboration.

According to her, Nollywood thrives when actors support one another, and attempts to undermine another person’s achievement only diminish the collective progress the industry has made over the years.

She also hinted that the pressure placed on actors through constant comparison can be unhealthy, especially when it ignores the hard work, strategy, and audience connection that go into each project’s success.
