Daniel Nuhu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Kwali Area Council chairmanship election, securing 17,032 votes.

Nuhu’s victory, which spanned the majority of the council’s wards, saw him defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Haruna Pai, who finished second with 8,575 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the official results at the Kwali collation centre early Sunday morning.

With this win, the APC has now clinched three out of the four council results released so far.

In addition to Kwali, the APC has secured victories in AMAC and Bwari, while the PDP has taken Gwagwalada.
