Justice Mojisola Dada of an Ikeja Special Offences Court on Monday granted N20 million bail to former Managing Director of Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria(AMCON), Ahmed Kuru, and four other defendants standing trial for alleged Arik Airline N76 billion and $31.5 million fraud.

Other defendants include Kamilu Omokide, the former Receiver Manager of Arik Airline Ltd; Captain Roy Ilegbodu, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, and Super Bravo Ltd.

Dada admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N20 million each, with one surety each.

Persecondnews recalls that on Thursday, February 22, 2024, President Bola Tinubu relieved Ahmed Kuru of his duties as MD of AMCON and appointed Gbenga Alade as his replacement.
