President Bola Tinubu has commended the Nigerian military for its successful operations against security threats in the north-west region of the country.

The president’s praise follows the neutralization of notorious bandit leaders Halilu Sububu and Sani Wala Burki, and the rescue of 13 kidnapped students in Kaduna.

In a statement on Saturday issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu expressed relief and satisfaction with the military’s progress.

He noted that the successes demonstrate the security operatives’ capability to ensure peace and security in the nation.

According to Persecondnews, the military has accomplished the following: “Neutralizing Halilu Sububu, a wanted bandit leader responsible for terrorizing citizens in Zamfara, Sokoto, and other parts of north-western Nigeria.

“Killing Sani Wala Burki in a joint operation in Katsina. Busting a terrorist enclave in Kaduna, freeing 13 kidnapped students.”

The successes followed President Tinubu’s directive to the service chiefs to relocate to the zone until normalcy is restored.

He commended the military high command, intelligence agencies, and troops for their synergy, dedication, and valiant efforts.

He also praised the entire security apparatus for improving national security and urged them to continue their efforts.

The President reassured the security agencies of his continued support in achieving the priority objective of keeping the nation safe and secure.

Persecondnews recalls that on September 12, the Nigerian Air Force confirmed Halilu Sububu’s death and reported the deaths of 38 other terrorists in Zamfara.

The operation recovered three PKT machine guns, five AK-47 rifles, 29 magazines, and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
