Peter Okoye, one half of the renowned Nigerian music duo P-Square, has finally spoken out about the group’s breakup and the ongoing feud between him and his twin brother, Paul Okoye.

“I’m tired of being disrespected and belittled by my own brother,” Peter said.

“I’ve always used ‘we’ and ‘us’ when referring to P-Square, acknowledging our joint efforts, but Paul always uses ‘I’ and ‘me,’ downplaying my contributions. It’s as if I never existed.”

Peter also addressed the constant discrediting of his efforts in the group, saying, “I’ve written and co-written many hit songs, including ‘Get-Squared,’ ‘Bizzy Body,’ ‘Personally,’ ‘Roll It,’ ‘Temptation,’ ‘Alingo,’ ‘More than a Friend,’ ‘Shekini,’ ‘Say Your Love,’ ‘Gimme Dat,’ ‘Senorita,’ ‘IGBEdu,’ and a few others. Were these songs also considered failures? Why does he always focus on his own contributions and discredit the others?”

He questioned Paul’s motives, saying, “What does he gain by constantly disrespecting and belittling me? I’ve praised him in interviews for his songwriting ability, but instead of showing gratitude, he seems to find satisfaction in rubbing it in my face.

“I’ve often found myself wondering. What do you truly gain by constantly disrespecting and belittling me all the time?”

Peter also reflected on their solo careers, asking, “Is Rudeboy or Mr. P bigger and more successful than P-Square today? Are we individually selling out arenas and stadiums like P-Square used to?

“Are we topping the world music charts with our songs as solo artists? Do we command crowds and entertain massive audiences like P-Square?”

He expressed his frustration over Paul’s constant claims of being the sole songwriter, composer, producer, and singer of P-Square, saying, “It’s as if I’m not part of the group.

“I’m the one who has been disrespected, marginalized, and humiliated. You have disrespected my wife, disrespected my family, disrespected my talent, disrespected my ideas, and even sided with Jude when he was clearly trying to oppress me.”

Peter concluded by saying, “I genuinely wish him nothing but the best, bro! I hope he’s happy now. I just want to focus and do my music in peace. Please allow me to focus and do my music in peace.

“I understand that some people believe these lies and false narratives and come to my page to drop negative comments, but I wish you nothing but the best.”
