Just two weeks after false rumors of his demise spread like wildfire on social media, veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs proved them wrong by celebrating his 82nd birthday on Thursday.

His wife, Joke Silva, took to Instagram to mark the milestone, sharing a heartwarming video of Jacobs donning a customized house coat, accompanied by her loving words.

Silva’s post read: “82, just like that. Agba ko ni nira l’agbara Jesu. Happy birthday and have an amazing year ahead, my darling… Sir J of life, @olujacobs (loving his customized housecoat).”

The video showed Jacobs looking hale and hearty, debunking the previous rumours of his passing.

The post has since garnered congratulatory messages from celebrities and fans alike.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde commented: “Happy birthday to a legend, a father to the industry, an outstanding actor, an incredible soul.”

Osas Ighodaro wrote: “Happy Birthday, legend! God bless you immensely.” Chioma Akpotha also chimed in: “A living legend! Happy birthday, sir. We love you.”

This celebration comes as a relief to fans and the film industry, following the recent false rumours of Jacobs’ death.
