President Bola Tinubu has given full presidential support to the implementation of Nigeria’s first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project being executed as a joint venture with some French partners.

The $5 billion project which will start in the fourth quarter of 2026, is expected to create 7,000 jobs.

According to him, his administration is fully committed to the successful execution of the project as part of effort to develop Nigeria’s gas resources.

Tinubu spoke on Wednesday while receiving a group of joint venture partners based in France and Japan led by the Ambassador of France to Nigeria and Deputy Ambassador for Japan to Nigeria at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The leader of the delegation and Group Managing Director of UTM FLNG, Julius Rone, told State House correspondents after meeting with Tinubu that he had directed his Chief of Staff, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, to ensure that the project is successfully concluded.

The President said we should run to him through his Chief of Staff if there is any obstacle that will threaten the delivery date of the project, Rone said.
