Amid fears and allegations that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) might tamper with the will of the people as election results trickle in, some leading Nigerian music stars have called out the electoral body, warning it to remain neutral.

While Grammy-award winner, Burnaboy warned that any INEC should not toy with the people’s votes, Adekunle Gold said it should be irresponsible and accountable.

Gold and BurnaBoy’s reactions are coming against the backdrop of mounting controversies trailing the conduct of elections by INEC and reports of violence in certain areas of Lagos and other parts of the country where political thugs unleashed mayhem on voters.

Gold, a father of one and husband to Simi, another leading female Nigerian singer, in a post on Sunday, described INEC as not living up to expectations in the conduct of elections across the country.
