He was kidnapped along with an occupant in his Toyota Sienna car in the state, Persecondnews recalls.

Okoye, who represents Governor Charles Soludo constituency in the Assembly, was found at Nnobi in Idemili South local government area.

His head was hung on the tree in the community, an indication that the body had been taken away.

Gov. Soludo had expressed the hope of rescuing his lawmaker while presenting Anambra’s revised budget to lawmakers on Friday.

Contacted, the spokesman for Anambra Police Command, ASP Ikenga Tochukwu, has confirmed the killing of the lawmaker.

“His head was found along Nnobi road today (Saturday). There is no suspect in custody yet,” he said.
