FCT Police crack down on kidnappers, arrest three

1.2k

In a significant stride towards ridding the nation’s capital of criminal elements, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command successfully apprehended three notorious kidnappers.

The decisive operation, executed on June 29, 2025, was spearheaded by ACP Victor O. Godfrey.

Acting on crucial intelligence, the team conducted raids across Wukushi and Mpape in the FCT, as well as Rigina in Kaduna State.

The arrests include Abdulkadir Abubakar from Mpape, FCT; Mohammed Tasiu Sani, 25, from Rigina, Kaduna State; and Suleiman Jibrin, 27, from Sabon-Gayan, Kaduna State.

SP Josephine Adeh, the Command’s spokesperson, confirmed that these suspects ran dangerous camps deep within the Kachia and Rigina forests of Kaduna State, where they held victims captive.
.
They are suspected of involvement in numerous abductions in Jere, Kajuru, and various areas within the FCT.

The statement reads: “An operational motorcycle, commonly referred to as a “Boko Haram motorcycle,” was recovered during the operation and efforts are ongoing to recover more weapons and arrest of other fleeing accomplices.

“Suspects are currently in custody and are assisting the Police with further investigations to dismantle their criminal network. Their arrest marks a significant stride in the Command’s effort to restore peace and security across the territory.

“While the FCT Police Commissioner Ajao Adewale appreciates the resilience and bravery of the Police operatives, he urges residents to support the Police with credible information in the fight against criminality.”
