EFCC Cracks Down on Benue Governor’s Aide for Alleged Sextortion, Cyberbullying

For allegedly committing sextortion and cyber bullying, the Special Adviser to Benue Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, Dr. Mkor Aondona, has been apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Directorate arrested on Friday, June 20, following claims of some female students accusing the governor’s aide of unethical and criminal behaviour involving sexual exploitation, cyber bullying and blackmail.

The petitioners accused Aondona of demanding sexual favours from slim, attractive women he recruited for ushering positions.

They claimed he exploited their vulnerability, secretly filming these encounters without consent.

Aondona then allegedly blackmailed the women, threatening to leak the videos if they refused to continue sexual acts.

Aondona was also alleged to be involved in blackmail—sending explicit videos of the girls allegedly recorded without their knowledge or consent through several messaging platforms.

Some of the videos are said to be in circulation.

The EFCC has indicated that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigation was completed.
