Mbappe Left Out of France Squad Amid Controversy, Injury Concerns

926

French national team coach Didier Deschamps has omitted Kylian Mbappe from the squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Israel and Italy, sparking further controversy surrounding the Real Madrid superstar.

Due to a minor thigh injury, Mbappe rested for last month’s matches against Israel and Belgium.

The 25-year-old quickly returned to action for Real Madrid, sparking criticism and raising questions about his commitment to the national team.

Mbappe’s omission also comes amid allegations of rape, which surfaced during his short break in Stockholm following France’s last international break.

The Swedish prosecutor’s office confirmed an investigation had been opened, although Mbappe denied the allegations, labelling them “fake news.”

His lawyer announced plans to take legal action for libel.

Despite making four appearances for Real Madrid since returning from injury, Mbappe has struggled to regain his explosive form.

Deschamps’ decision to leave him out of the squad may be a strategic move to allow the player to focus on regaining his fitness and form.

France will face Israel on November 17 and Italy on November 20 in the UEFA Nations League.

Deschamps’ squad will look to maintain their momentum without their captain and star player.

The French Football Federation has not provided an official reason for Mbappe’s omission, fueling speculation about the motivations behind Deschamps’ decision.
