Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, has passed away.
The demise of the chief judge during a brief illness was confirmed on Tuesday by the Chief Registrar, Mr. Olanike Adegoke.
The judiciary’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Michael Oba, released a statement in which Adegoke paid tribute to the late Chief Judge, describing him as “a respected jurist who dedicated his life to upholding the principles of fairness, equity, and justice.”
Adegoke said: “The contributions of the late CJ to the judiciary and Ekiti State as a whole are immeasurable. His legacy will be deeply missed.”
Born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East Local Government Area, Justice Adeyeye was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986.
In October 2021, he was appointed the Chief Judge, a position he held with distinction until his death.
