CAF appoints Malawian referee for Nigeria-Libya AFCON qualifier

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Malawian referee Godfrey Philip Nkhakananga to officiate the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Libya’s Mediterranean Knights.

The Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, will host the eagerly awaited match on Friday, October 11.

Nkhakananga will be assisted by his compatriots, Clemence Kanduku and Joseph Nyauti, who will serve as assistant referees 1 and 2, respectively.

Botswanan referee Keabetswe Dintwa has been appointed as the fourth official for the Matchday 3 clash, which kicks off at 5 pm.

Munkaila Nassam Adam of Ghana will act as the match commissioner, and Issaka Boubacar of Niger will serve as the referee assessor.

Mayowa Akingbemisilu will be the broadcast venue manager.

The Super Eagles will look to secure maximum points against Libya to maintain their momentum in the qualifying series.
