Libya’s Mediterranean Knights storm Uyo Oct. 7 for Super Eagles showdown

The Libyan national team, led by new coach Nasser Al-Hadiri, will arrive in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Monday, October 7 for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Super Eagles.

The Mediterranean Knights will face the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Friday, October 11, before hosting the return leg in Benina on Tuesday, October 15.

Libya is currently at the bottom of Group D with one point, while Nigeria is at the top with four.

The Libyans began preparations in Tripoli with a 28-man squad named for the crucial encounters.

The Mediterranean Knights are looking to turn their fortunes around under Al-Hadiri, who replaced Serbian coach Micho following a poor run of results.

The games against Nigeria will be crucial in determining Libya’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Goalkeepers: Murad Al-Wahishi, Abdul Jawad Rizq, Mohammed Ayyad

Defenders: Ahmed Ayyad, Ali Youssef, Ahmed Saleh, Ahmed Al-Tarbi

Forwards: Mohammed Al-Shtiwi, Sand Bin Ali, Al-Bahlol Abu Sahmain, Badr Hassan
