Breaking: Supreme Court fixes Thursday, Oct. 26 for judgment in Atiku/Obi appeal against Tinubu’s victory

The Supreme Court has fixed Thursday, October 26, to deliver judgment on the appeal filed by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Mr Peter Obi against the victory of President Bola Tinubu of APC in the February 25 poll.
The judgment date was on Wednesday communicated to lawyers to the parties in the dispute.
A seven-member panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice John Okoro had on Monday, October 23 reserved judgment after taking the arguments of the lawyers.

Other members of the seven-member panel are Justices Uwani Abba-Aji, Lawal Garba, Ibrahim Saulawa, Adamu Jauro, Tijjani Abubakar and Emmanuel Agim.Atiku and Obi, in their separate prayers to the apex court, are challenging the verdict of the Presidential Election Petitions Court sitting in Abuja.

Persecond News earlier reported that the five-member panel led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, had dismissed the petitions of both candidates.
The court cited the inability of Atiku and Obi to prove the substance of their respective cases, prompting the ongoing tussle at the Supreme Court.
