Adelake Bara, who shot and killed the suspected lover one of his three wives, has an appointment with the hangman.

This is the verdict of an Aiyetoro High Court in Ogun State for the murder of one Olaleye Oke, whom Bara suspected to be sleeping with one of his harem.

Handing down the judgment, Justice Patricia Oduniyi, held that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and therefore, sentenced Bara, saying he is guilty as charged.

“Adelake Bara is hereby sentenced to death by hanging for shooting and killing one Olaleye Oke, whom he accused of having illicit affairs with one of his three wives,” the judge ruled.

Persecondnews recalls that the convict, who has been on trial for about four year, had faced a charge of murder.

Oduniyi said the offence committed by Bars contravened the Criminal Code of Ogun State.

During the trial, Senior State Counsel, Miss T.O. Adeyemi, had told the court that the convict committed the offence on May 1, 2018, at 6.00 p.m., at Afodan Farm Settlement, Ijoun, in Aiyetoro council area of the state.

Adeyemi said that the deceased was on his farm working when Bara met him and accused him of having a love affair with one of his wives.

“Within split seconds, Bara, brought out a gun and shot Oke in the head, as he was trying to exonerate himself of the allegation.”
