Haaland’s Double Sends City to Top of Table

Manchester City’s impressive 3-0 win over West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium has propelled them to the top of the Premier League table.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the fifth minute, assisted by Phil Foden, and doubled his tally in the 69th minute, securing his 19th goal of the season.

Tijjani Reijnders had already doubled City’s lead in the 38th minute, and the Citizens’ dominance was evident as they maintained their momentum throughout the match. West Ham, on the other hand, struggled to cope with City’s pressure, ultimately falling to a 3-0 defeat.

The loss piles more pressure on West Ham United head coach Nuno Espirito Santo, with his side now guaranteed to spend Christmas in the relegation zone, languishing in 17th position with 13 points from 17 matches.

City, meanwhile, tops the table with 37 points from 17 matches, and Pep Guardiola’s team has now faced West Ham more times without losing than any other side in the Premier League during his managerial career (19).

Haaland’s impressive form continues, with his 104th Premier League goal equalling Didier Drogba’s tally, achieved in 140 fewer games than the Ivorian legend.
