Colleagues’ Intervention Fails as Opeyemi Aiyeola Snubs Jamiu Azeez’s Apology

Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has continued to keep her distance from her godson, Jamiu Azeez, despite his recent public apology and reported interventions by some of her colleagues, indicating that the rift between them is far from over.

Azeez had earlier issued a heartfelt apology on social media, admitting that he had acted childishly and acknowledging the deep emotional hurt he caused the actress.

Although he refrained from stating exactly what went wrong between them, he stressed that Opeyemi’s name remained an indelible part of his life story and appealed for forgiveness.

However, the apology appears not to have had the desired effect.

Sources close to the situation revealed that a few of Aiyeola’s colleagues within the industry had reportedly reached out to plead on Azeez’s behalf, urging her to soften her stance.

Despite these efforts, the interventions were said to be insufficient to quench the hurt or change the actress’s position.

Rather than directly addressing the apology or the pleas, Aiyeola took to her Instagram page on Friday to share a video of herself, where she highlighted two of her personal life rules—an action many have interpreted as a subtle response to the ongoing situation.

In the video, the actress spoke firmly about emotional strength and self-control, warning against allowing emotions to become a burden or giving others the satisfaction of seeing one broken.

“You see rules no 4 & 6,” she wrote. “Never let emotions weigh you down. Never let them see you finish. Please write them boldly in capitals for your own good.”

Many observers believe the tone and timing of the post are a clear pointer to why the problem between Aiyeola and Azeez remains unresolved.

Her emphasis on emotional boundaries suggests that the wounds run deeper than a public apology or third-party mediation can easily fix.
