Bayelsa State is gearing up to host elite domestic and international athletes for the Yenagoa City 10KM International Race on April 4, 2026.

This premier event aims to celebrate athletic excellence while promoting physical wellness and the state’s rich cultural heritage.

According to Persecondnews, the race will commence at the Obollo Roundabout and conclude with a grand finish at Peace Park Square.

To cap off the day’s excitement, participants and spectators will be treated to a live music performance.

Beyond the competition, the event is designed to boost sports tourism and foster community spirit, drawing a diverse crowd of professionals and fitness enthusiasts competing for prestigious prizes.

The Special Assistant on Media to the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Kola Daniel, in a statement on Thursday said: “Interested individuals have the option to sign up either by visiting the Ministry of Sports Complex situated in Yenagoa or by completing the process digitally through the dedicated portal at https://www.yenagoacity10kmrace.com/.”

Those who register will be able to pick up their official race materials during the period spanning April 1 through April 3, 2026, with distribution handled at Peace Park in Yenagoa within Bayelsa State.

The event is set to highlight Bayelsa’s hospitality and its emergence as a global stage for competitive sports.

By connecting athletes from diverse backgrounds, organizers hope to foster a global community centered on physical fitness and high-level competition.
