The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Femi Soneye, NNPC Ltd’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, following his prestigious award as Spokesperson in the Oil and Gas Sector for 2025.

Persecondnews reported that the award was bestowed on Soneye on Thursday, April 17 by the national body of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Abuja.

Ms. Maureen Chigbo, GOCOP President, praised Soneye’s achievement in a statement on Sunday, April 20, citing his professionalism and commitment to effective communication.

“This recognition is a shining affirmation of your commitment to transparency, professionalism, and effectiveness in strategic communication of your companies policies to its various publics in Nigeria’s vital oil and gas sector,” she said in the statement signed by Ogbuefi Remmy Nweke, Publicity Secretary of GOCOP.

Chigbo said Mr. Soneye’s leadership in corporate communication at NNPC Ltd has set a new standard for public communication in the industry, pointing out that his emergence as the recipient of this award is a reflection of his exceptional skill and integrity.

She expressed delight that Soneye, a former GOCOP member, is representing the organization well in his role as NNPC Ltd’s chief communications officer.
