President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar momentarily put aside their political rivalry on Friday as they met and exchanged pleasantries, about 17 months after the 2023 polls.

According to a post by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser (Information and Strategy) to the President, the duo met at the National Mosque, Abuja.

Onanuga described Atiku as Tinubu’s old friend.

“President Tinubu meets old friend Atiku Abubakar at the National Mosque.

“It was at the Jumat and wedding of the daughter of Senator Danjuma Goje,” Onanuga posted on X.

Persecondnews recalls that Atiku has in recent times been critical of Tinubu’s government, particularly its economic policies, amid rising hunger and hardship in the country.
