Player of the Match Joshua Zirkzee’s goal set the tone for Manchester United as they competed in their 100th top-flight campaign with a 1-0 victory over Fulham.
Persecondnews reports that Zirkzee’s goal makes him the fourth different Dutchman to score on his Premier League debut for Manchester United after Ruud van Nistelrooy, Alexander Buttner, and Donny van de Beek.
His goal came in the dying embers of the opening day of the 2024/2025 Premier League game, breaking the resolve of Marko Silva’s Fulham, who were solidly defensively frustrating Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford with their tactical displays.
“I am thankful, and it’s an amazing feeling. We got the win that the fans and the team wanted; that’s more important for me,” Zirkzee said after the game.
