Premier League giants Chelsea FC of London have appointed former Nigerian midfielder Seyi Olofinjana to spearhead their talent management role in Africa.

Chelsea appointed Achirou Gaoh and Seyi Olofinjana, two key figures, to oversee operations on the continent in what is considered a significant step to bolster their presence in African football.

According to Fabrizio Romano, on Friday via X, he said: “Chelsea have appointed Achirou Gaoh and Seyi Olofinjana to oversee operations in Africa.”

Olofinjana oversaw the development and procurement of football talents in Nigeria, including Taiwo Awoniyi, who joined Liverpool in 2015 and is now at Nottingham Forest.
