The Federal Government has approved Thursday, April 11, as an additional public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, according to a statement by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior.

Persecondnews recalls that the federal government had earlier announced Tuesday and Wednesday as public holidays for the celebration of Eid-El-Fitr.

However, the inability to spot the crescent moon on Monday led to the extension of the holidays until Thursday.

The statement said:“The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, while congratulating the Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of a month of spiritual rejuvenation, reiterates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s (GCFR) firm commitment to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive.”
