Horrific! Assailants break into varsity lecturer’s office, smash his brain, spinal cord with hammer

Dr. Kamar Abdulkadir, a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Department of Physical Health Education, was brutally murdered in his office on Sunday by yet-to-be dentified assailants.

According to reports, assailants broke into his office and used a knife and hammer to attack him.

The victim’s killers had left him with multiple injuries and was subsequently discovered dead in a pool of blood.

When he attempted to stop his attackers from stabbing him, his hands were torn off.

They killed him right away by smashing his brain and spinal cord with a hammer.

“The killers also carted away his vehicle and other valuables,” an official of the university said.

The capital city of Borno State in northeastern Nigeria, Maiduguri, is home to the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), a federally funded university.

The Nigerian federal government founded the university in 1975 with the goal of it being one of the main institutions of higher learning in the nation.

With a college of medicine, faculties of agriculture, arts, environmental science, Allied health science, Basic medical science, dentistry, education, engineering, law, management science, pharmacy, science, social science, and veterinary medicine, it enrols roughly 25,000 students in its combined programmes.

The institution has been developing its university press and stepping up its research, especially in the areas of agriculture, medicine, and conflict resolution, with support from the federal government.

In the northeastern region of the nation, the university serves as the primary higher education establishment.
