Kano Tribunal to deliver judgment via zoom, as lawyers, party members are denied access to court

The Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal is set to deliver judgment via zoom on Wednesday from their location as the judges failed to appear physically in court.

Persecondnews reports that the judgment is on a petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the victory of Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Among various claims, the APC contends that the NNPP’s victory should be nullified, citing violations of the Electoral Act of 2022.

Persecondnews gathered that there would be no live broadcast of the judgment as only a few journalists were admitted into the venue while the use of smartphones or cameras is prohibited.

Also, some journalists, lawyers, party members, and many others were denied access to the court.
