Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and two former governors have given their support to the removal of petrol subsidy by the President Bola Tinubu administration.
The former governors are the immediate past governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike,  and ex-governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori.
Persecondnews reports that the two members of PDP G-5 governors (Makinde and Woke) and Ibori had stormed the Presidential Villa at 4:20pm.
Makinde, speaking with State House correspondents after the visit, said they were in the Villa to “show their support for the current administration.”
He described the subsidy removal as a tough decision but said “the President has started on the right note” and
canvassed citizens’ support for the government on the issue.
“We are here to let him (Tinubu) know that he has started well and he has the support of the generality of the people.
“Yes, we discussed it. It is something that is on top of public discuss right now. We know it is a tough decision for the people and he needs the support of everybody to see this through,” Makinde said.
Wike also told reporters:”There is no big deal about it, the governor of Oyo has told you what we came to do; to give him support.
“We are supporting all the decisions he is taking and it shows that he is prepared for the job and there is nothing bad about that. It requires tough decisions for a country to move forward.”
