Breaking: Abducted 27 Kaduna Forestry College students set free after 52 days in the forest

After about 52 days in the abductors’ den, 27 students abducted by bandits from Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, were on Wednesday freed.

The parents of the students had on Tuesday stormed the National Assembly Abuja to protest the abduction of their children.

Some had been earlier released on payment of ransom by their parents.

The bandits had demanded a N500 million ransom to facilitate the release of the students.

The students had been in captivity for more than two months.

No fewer than 37 students were abducted from the college out of which 10 had been released.

The Chairman of the Parents Association of the abductors, Alhaji Abdullahi Usman confirmed the development.

“Yes they were released today and we thank you for the support,” he told journalists.
